(Photo by Apichart Jinakul)The authorities have expanded the security zone around Sanam Luang by two kilometres and will install additional high-tech closed-circuit cameras for more effective surveillance, following Monday's bomb blast near the royal funeral ground. The additional area forms the outer security perimeter, according to Lt Gen Apiratch. The closed-circuit camera system around Sanam Luang also needs to be improved, he said. The 1st Army admitted that the stricter security measures, including checkpoints, may inconvenience people going to Sanam Luang, but they are needed to prevent illegal acts.
